About Me
My name is Bryony Way, and I’m a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Mindset Coach. I live in Dawlish, Devon, by the sea with my husband and children, and I offer appointments both locally and worldwide online.
My background is in education—I’ve worked in both primary schools and special educational settings for over 20 years. I originally studied Communication Studies and Gender Studies at the University of Leeds before gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Birmingham. After years of teaching, I decided to take my career in a slightly different direction, training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist at the highly respected Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training Centre in Bristol. There, I was awarded a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DSFH) and a Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), considered the gold standard by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). Wanting to expand my skills further, I also gained a coaching qualification in early 2025.
I’m passionate about helping people understand how their mind works so they can take charge of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to create positive change. Having experienced Solution Focused Hypnotherapy myself, I know firsthand how powerful this approach can be. It’s a privilege to support my clients in overcoming challenges, achieving their goals, and improving their well-being.
There was a time when I felt stuck in my own thoughts—overthinking, second-guessing, and feeling like my mind was running on autopilot. I tried to talk myself out of it, to be more positive, to just ‘relax’—but nothing seemed to stick. It wasn’t until I experienced Solution Focused Hypnotherapy myself that everything changed. If you’d like to know more about what led me here, you can read my story [here].
When I’m not working with clients, I spend a lot of time ferrying my sons to football matches in what feels like the most remote parts of Devon, usually wondering how we’ve accumulated quite so many muddy boots. I love walking along the coastline or exploring the forests around Haldon—there’s something about being surrounded by trees that just feels right. I also have an unexpected appreciation for concrete. A city skyline, a Brutalist building—I find joy in both. Because whether it’s nature or architecture, I believe there’s something to appreciate everywhere. And when I put my feet up, I enjoy a great book, a gripping TV box set, or just making the most of a quiet moment!
