Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a very positive process that focusses on achieving your personal goals; how you would like to feel, or what you would like to be doing.  It is a form of Psychotherapy that combines elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with hypnosis to help people make significant, positive and lasting changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.

Therapy sessions are calm and relaxing and focus on positives, meaning that there is no need to revisit the past or unpick old problems that have contributed to the way you feel now, especially if those issues cause you any emotional discomfort. We take where you are now as a starting point from which to move forward, helping you to create a positive future for yourself by using the brain’s natural ability to forge new, more beneficial automatic pathways.  In each session you will be gently guided into a state of relaxation which will allow you to access and harness the vast powerful resources of your subconscious mind.

Although the positive results that you may experience can feel quite remarkable, solution Focused Hypnotherapy is underpinned by the latest research in the fields of neuroscience and brain based therapies. Advances in science over the past few decades mean that we have new insight into the brain and how our minds work.  Modern understandings of neuroplasticity; the ability to change the actual structure of our brains, mean that we know it is absolutely possible to change the way our that our brains function, allowing us to remove unwanted patterns of negative thoughts, feelings and habits, and replacing them with far more positive alternatives.  Understanding the physiology of the brain means that we are also able to recognise the huge impact that both the conscious and subconscious mind have on the production of chemicals in our mind and body.  We are able to influence the production of these neurotransmitters, reducing those associated with anxiety and  stress and encouraging far greater amounts of the natural ‘feel good’ chemicals which can have such a positive impact on our wellbeing.
